Leading figures line up for National Freelancers Day lecture

Posted Nov 16, 2010

The PCG's inaugural freelance lecture, hosted by Sue Lawley, is set to take place at the Stationers' Hall in London on 23rd November.

Dr James Bellini will deliver the lecture, focusing on the role freelancers should play in the economic future of the UK - and how the sector can pass through the downturn and emerge stronger than before.

Dr Bellini will be joined for a Q&A section by several leading business, political and media figures, including:

Baroness Liddell of Coatdyke - a former BBC economics journalist, Helen entered Parliament when she won Monklands East in 1994 in a by-election following the death of the then Labour Leader John Smith. During her spell at Westminster Helen held a number of Ministerial appointments before standing down at the General Election in 2005.

Damian Reece, Head of Business for Telegraph Media Group - Damian was previously City Editor of the Daily Telegraph.

John Brazier, PCG Managing Director - John joined PCG as its Managing Director in September 2007. John was awarded the "Leadership Award" at the Trade Association Forum 2010 Best Practice Awards

Emma Jones, founder and editor of Enterprise Nation - Emma started her first business at the age of 27 and successfully sold it just 15 months after launch. She launched Enterprise Nation, the home business website, in 2006, and has attracted a regular readership of more than 250,000 people. Emma has advised government agencies on how to encourage and support homeworking.

A limited number of seats are still available for the event. People unable to make it to the event can register to listen to the free audiocast and access the live debate online at: nationalfreelancersday.org.uk.
