PCG publishes free Guide to Freelancing e-book

Posted Oct 14, 2011

The 80 page e-book includes information on how to successfully run a business, find new work, and keep on top of your finances.

Sections include; setting up as a start-up (limited companies and the alternatives), dealing with accountants and book keeping, how to pay the taxman and deal with VAT and company taxes, and how to bid and win new work and mange your workload.

The guide has been produced by PCG, the leading representative group for contractors and freelancers, using the vast pool of knowledge available to it via its members and associates.

Commenting on the publication of the e-book, the organisation's MD, John Brazier, said:

"This guide is a must read for all freelancers. It is the culmination of 10 years of problem finding and solving from everyone associated with PCG. Through our forums, members, associates and advisors this combines thousands of years of freelancing wisdom."

"As a business support organisation we are asked these key questions daily and we have constantly challenged ourselves on the right information to give out. With this guide we have done the ground work so that freelancers can get on working with their clients."

As if the new book wasn't exciting enough, PCG have also uploaded an online quiz, challenging freelancers and contractors on their knowledge of the sector, ahead of National Freelancers Day on 23rd November 2011.

You can download the guide here, and take part in the 'fit-to-freelance' quiz here
