Free webinars for contractors launched to celebrate NFD 2011

Posted Nov 17, 2011

To celebrate National Freelancers Day, the PCG is to upload a range of webinars to advise freelancers on a wide range of subjects from winning new contracts, to building a strong profile and working as a contractor.

Wide range of webinar topics

16 webinars are to be made available on 23rd November 2011 - National Freelancers Day.

The four main themes are:

1. Freelancers and the changing world of work (dealing with long term planning, and being aware of the threats which exist to freelancing).

2. Building a strong profile (how to stand out from the pack, improve your credibility, and become an expert in the marketplace).

3. Winning work (a fundamental part of life as a contractor or freelancer - tips on how to improve your success at securing contract work).

4. Running the show (how to design an effective business framework).

Commenting on the webinar launch, John Brazier, MD of PCG said:

"Last year over a million people were touched by National Freelancers Day and many of them had serious questions about the business of freelancing. This year we have reached out to experts across the world to answer these questions across a series of webinars for freelancers on our website. NFD is more than a day and this treasure trove of advice ensures the initiative will still be relevant and used long after the 23 November 2011."

Useful resources for contractors

The PCG is also holding its second freelance lecture in London to mark National Freelancers Day. This year's lecture will follow the themes of flexibility, capability, agility, and compatibility. The lecture aims to address key questions on flexible working, and workforce trends which affect both businesses and the freelance workforce.

The group also recently launched a new e-book complete guide to freelancing. The 80 page guide covers subjects as diverse as how to successfully run a business, find new work, and keep on top of your finances.
