IT contractor trashes systems after application to become a permie is rejected
Posted Mar 20, 2009
An IT contractor has been indicted in California of damaging his former client's offshore oil rig computer systems, after his application to become a permanent employee was turned down!
Mario Azar, a 28 year old IT consultant allegedly sabotaged computer systems he was helping to install for a Long Beach-based technology company.
Azar had a contract with Pacific Energy Resources, where he was assigned to install a system to detect leaks, and enable communications between the mainland offices and offshore oil facilities.
Although no oil leaks resulted from the systems damage, the company spent many thousands of dollars on repairs.
The contractor is due to appear at a US District Court in early April.
It must be a sign of the times when an IT contractor gets irate because his attempts to become a permie get rejected!
