IT Contractor Pensions See why pensions are the "last great tax break" for IT Contractors - Find out more. |
Published on Jul 3, 2008
An IT Contractor was shocked when he returned from holiday in Portugal to face a £31,500 mobile phone bill.
Mancunian Iayn Dobson apparently ran up the astronomical bill whilst downloading the final episode of the "Prison Break" TV show.
His mobile phone contract did not include unlimited Internet surfing outside the UK.
Mr Dobson turned to Blackburn-based law firm, Farleys Solicitors LLP, to sort out the mess and managed to get the ridiculous bill reduced to a mere £229.
Danielle Mestraud, from Farleys Solicitors, told This is Lancashire:
"This highlights the importance of taking legal advice in disputed debt cases, but we would advise everyone to check the small print on their mobile phone contracts to avoid being overly charged."
