BBC seeks contractor views on IT work permit rules

The producers of BBC's File on 4 are seeking views from contractors on the intra company transfer issue, and how companies may be abusing the rules.

Last month, APSCo called on the Government to close a loophole which allows companies to hire non-EU workers without having to first advertise the job vacancies in the UK.

The Professional Contractors Group has also launched an evidence gathering campaign following concern that abuses have been taking place, particularly in the IT industry.

Just as the Government claims to be putting British workers first, there is growing evidence that companies are using the intra-company transfer rules to bypass skills shortage limitations, and are undercutting UK IT workers by importing foreign workers at a much lower cost.

If you are working on an IT project and have had first hand experience of working with people who have been transferred from overseas, your views could be very useful to the show.
